continued from Week 31…
The rest of the ride home my heart was quiet and still. This day had been unlike any other and it’s nearing the end. I wondered what my tomorrow will hold? Will I wake with hope?
I still hadn’t seen or talked with Ryan and with it being so late and stress so high I didn’t expect him to still be awake when arrived home. As I pulled up to the house I briefly had the same sick-stomach feeling from when I saw a note taped to the door. This time there was no note and I remembered how Jesus was my victor in that entire experience yet knowing we don’t have an answer to fix the future, I was still having to actively quiet my mind.
Before I got out of the car I opened Sarah’s note. Along with a few encouraging words she had included a check.
Over the past few months we had been talking about gifting tithes to each other. Jesus knows our families are His church. We are living out our faith, continually seeking His promised abundant life and ever willing to do what He leads us to. We also know, money is tight for both of us and if we are the church why not honor God with our gifts of tithe to each other?
Her check was written for a unique, but specific amount, down to an odd number of cents…or, is it odd?
