continued from Week 36
During my living-list purge I had asked Jesus about our Community Sundays which was referring to a real snail-mail invitation our family of five sent out to many other local families we considered dear. (For your reading pleasure and more practice understanding Karaese see link below.) Jesus’ answer to me when I broke fast and purposed to hear Him was “pay attention to these families” but what was odd, was no family ever came. No families joined us in this specific attempt to build community.
What on earth?!?
Let’s remember His ways aren’t of this earth so why, oh why, was I surprised when it wasn’t a simple cookie-cutter outcome.
I vividly remember one weekend afternoon having a sad heart around the reality of ‘no response’ to our invitation and with tears in my eyes I retreated to my bedroom, locked the door, fell to my knees and cried out. I didn’t understand and so wanted to know what He meant.
We originally sent the invitation in response to His leading and now we are to “pay attention to these families” and there were none!
In the following pause of silence I heard Him say as my heart was laid before Him, Karah you continue to desire something new from the same-ol’-tried-and-true crew.
I then remembered a little somethin’ I had learned before, that of… doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insane (literally, that’s the definition of insanity).
Simply put, change requires change.
With a renewed gift of having been heard and hearing, He then whispered I’m setting your feet in a new direction and I will provide those ‘bare bones’ for you. And with that, I began to genuinely know to expect His provision in ways I knew… I wouldn’t know.
To live in His higher-way-truth was challenging then, and surprise, surprise, it’s still a challenge today albeit to a slightly lesser degree.
and for more reading pleasure our 💛 Community Sunday Invitation 💛

to be continued…
